Margareta Krantz – Textile and Mixed Media Artist
• Born in Stockholm in 1950, since 1999 living in Båstad (1999-2016 in Torekov-Båstad. From 2016 in Båstad.)
• University College of Arts, Crafts and Design (Konstfackskolan), Stockholm, The Department of Textile, 1968-73
• Solo and group exhibitions; Public commissions – all over Sweden

Nowadays my art work is mainly concentrated on my own mixed textile technique, which could be described as follows:
Printing and painting on large pieces of cotton and linen fabrics. Cutting forms with knife or scissors from selected parts of
the fabric. Then there is the process of composition – a “puzzle”, directly on the walls in my studio or sometimes on the floor
– and when I’m ready to finish my work, I put the pieces together with my sewing-machine.

Other – for me also very important - techniques are: Photos, digitally adapted and printed in limited editions; assemblage art and tapestry weaving.
